Universal RGB Navigation System
OEM GPS Navigation LCD screen / LCD Display. The NV_RGB_X features dual composite video inputs, one of which can be activated automatically when shifting the vehicle into reverse (usually used with a back-up camera), it also features complete control settings for brightness, color, tint and contrast, as well as a series of DIP switches that are configurable for each vehicle.
The NV_RGB_X is an externally wired plug and play RGB converter interface that is installed inline of the GPS navigation computer in your

vehicle and LCD screen; it works simply by interrupting the RGB video signal from your GPS navigation computer when you flip a toggle switch or activate 12V on the reverse camera line. When this occurs the GPS navigation system video image will be replaced by the video input that is connected to the NV_RGB_X module. Grounding the black video switch wire attached to the module will allow you to cycle between the OEM Nav and Video input 2. We recommend attaching this wire to a momentary switch (not included) , which is also attached to ground, so when you press the button on the momentary switch, it will go between the oem navigation image and auxiliary video input 2. Video input 1 works in a similar way, except it requires a 12V DC signal on the gray reverse wire on the module. This configuration allows it to be triggered by your reverse lights when used with a backup camera.
The NV_RGB_X is a video only input interface module, which means an FM modulator, FM transmitter or CD changer audio input interface adapter needs to be used to connect the audio signal from your external AV source to your audio system if your vehicle does not have an auxiliary input already available. The NV_RGB_X is video-in-motion enabled, so the video image will stay on the screen even with the car in motion (however we do not recommend or endorse this).
Vehicle Specific Installation Information:
Universal RGB interface that comes with raw cables. You can view a photo of the wiring harness provided by clicking on the "View Module Wiring Harness" button below. Wires in the vehicle must be spliced into using this harness.The NV_RGB is a universal unit for all vehicles that use a standard RGB signal with sync as their video interface. Wiring diagrams are available for most vehicles, however installation can be accomplished even without a wiring diagram. RGB navigation interfaces all work in the same way, they use four wires to get the video image from the GPS computer to the LCD screen, these four wires represent the red, green, blue and sync signals. An easy way to test which wire corresponds to the appropriate signal is to simply find the RGB cable running from the GPS computer to the navigation LCD and unplug each wire in this cable one at a time, if you find you have lost the "blue tint" in your picture this represents the blue wire, the same goes for red and green. If you unplug a wire and the screen starts "rolling" or "shifting" this wire probably represents the sync wire. The NV_RGB can then be installed in line of this cable (between the GPS computer and LCD screen). The NV_RGB essentially works as an interrupt device, so when it receives a video signal it will automatically interrupt the GPS video signal and show the video input on the cars LCD.Please read our product disclaimer to ensure the safe use of our Nav Video modules.
Please note that the RGB unit works with any NTSC video output device and with most PAL devices, some European PAL DVD players and PAL TV Tuners have been reported incompatible resulting in a vertical shift of the image. However, many European video devices give the option to output in NTSC mode, eliminating any potential problems.

The Nav Video Rear View Camera 1 is ideal for use with the Nav Video line of video interfaces. The camera is mounted to a black plastic frame that features two holes spaced apart for mounting on your vehicles license plate frame. Installation is easy. Simply remove the screws from your license plate, place the camera over the license plate. Then re-attach the screws. The camera adjusts up and down, to allow you to adjust the angle of the video image.
This particular backup camera has night vision IR sensors that allow you to see what's behind you even in low light or no light environments.

Simply install the camera, connect the video signal to the Nav Video module along with the vehicles reverse wire. When the vehicle is put into reverse, the video image on the module will automatically switch and show the camera video image.
This particular backup camera has night vision IR sensors that allow you to see what's behind you even in low light or no light environments.
The Nav Video Rear View Camera 2 uses CMOS technology. The enclosure is completely waterproof and can easily be surface mounted to the plastic bumper, or license plate frame with two screws or bolts (not provided).

The standard license plate frame is made of black plastic and features infra red night vision sensors all around it for optimal image viewing in low light conditions.
